which is why sometimes i prefer this medium over livejournal...i like to use the internet to find videos, music, new stories that i find interesting...my livejournal has on occasion been less about me then what i'm doing on the net...so this is more convenient and a faster way to get things out there...imo. one of the reasons i enjoy soup so much :)

Soup and why it isn't Blogging

I was thinking for a bit about how Soup differs from similar sites with user-generated content. I suppose it is most similar to blogging - as you might make a blog entry of a photo or a video. However, what really makes it differ from blogging is the re-postable content.

True, you could copy and paste someone's entry or photo or video... but with Soup, you may do that by simply clicking a button. Then, you serve the purpose of transporting content from one user to another user, even if those two users have no connection other than you.

More-over this is short-form blogging. I don't use Blogger or Livejournal to write single sentences... I use them to mull over entire events. Here I feel more comfortable about posting 3 or 4 lyrics I enjoy + a video. And if you like it, you repost it and your friends can see it too.

And that's how I find Soup different, and how I use it differently.

I am running. I will meet you halfway.
When I get there, will you be waiting for me?
I'm scared that you don't feel the same.
And after all just how much can I take?
Heaven help me I think I'm in love
I'm all in love with you.
Because I can't help myself
I'm falling down
I'm falling hard for you.

That's life. If nothing else, It's life. It’s real, and sometimes it fuckin’ hurts, but it's sort of all we have.

I wondered how fast is light speed
Would life itself stay or follow me?
If I caught that one,
would it be the same?
It's a good thing this is just a game <!--ringtones and media links -->
